Photographing on film has never been a trend for me. I began my career in fashion photography loading film backs and film cameras with those nasty cumbersome medium format rolls. You would only be able to capture maybe 10-14 images per loading. Your vision and your execution of that had to be perfectly timed. That’s in the fashion world., try that in the wedding world! That was the intriguing challenge that I gravitated to early in my wedding career. How could I capture spontaneous but truthful images on film in the fast moving day of a wedding. It was a wonderful period., where I broke away from the boring world of staged wedding photography and created my own niche at the time. Then digital hit the scene and slowly the magic of film disappeared. It’s had a come back in the form of point and shoot cheap cameras. Which is okay., but being lucky enough to have held onto my professional gear, I can once again capture genuine and discerning images for my couples.
